(time will vary based on environment)ģ) Water most often during periods of growth (Spring/Summer/Autumn depending on where you live)Įvery plants environment is different. (Biggest cactus killer out there)ģ Rules For Cactus/Succulent Watering Success:ġ) Do not water in Winter or colder periods when the plant is in hibernation.Ģ) Do not overwater! Their roots need to dry out between waters, hence why drying the soil is good. Without good drainage the soil will hold water for too long and rot the roots for the plant. You can make your own or find cactus/succulent pre made bags from most plant stores. This plant has a white sap when damaged to avoid contact with skin or eyes.Ĭactus and Succulents LOVE the same kind soil with good drainage. Take Care: Some plants are poisonous, and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently. My features: 4-5 big ribs with bumpy lines and dark green & black colour! All plant/nursery stores sell cactus/succulent specific soil which is general garden soil mixed with sand/rocks/aggregate for drainage & air. Soil Conditions: All Cactus/Succulent love free-draining and airy soil mix. Over-watering may cause the rotting of the stems and roots. The warmer the conditions the more often it will be. Water exclusively during the summer and spring seasons and only when the soil feels dry to touch. Whilst succulents like more water than genuine cactus do, they still love to have the soil completely dry out between waters. This plant loves to be potted in the ground or in a pot. (Don’t leave too close to window to avoid glass beams) Indoors- Sunny situations like near a window with 6+hrs of sun/day. Partially shaded is recommended for outdoors, especially in extremely hot environments. If left in a pot, use in a central location for everyone to see. What to use me for: Spiral cactus is a decent grower and will branch out over time so we recommend if planted in ground to leave at least 1.5-2 metres gap to other plants.
